Straightening your teeth is no longer just for teenagers. With modern orthodontic options, adults can discreetly fix misaligned bites and crooked teeth, too.
Traditional metal/ceramic braces
- Pros: Fixed permanently to teeth, making them foolproof against compliance issues. Highly effective for complex bite corrections, rotations, and severe crowding.
- Cons: Highly visible (unless ceramic), require dietary restrictions (avoiding sticky/hard foods), and can make brushing tricky.
Clear aligners (invisible braces)
- Pros: Removable, virtually invisible, allow you to eat whatever you like, and require fewer emergency clinic visits for poking wires.
- Cons: Require strict self-discipline (must be worn 20–22 hours a day); generally more expensive than standard braces.
The right choice depends on the complexity of your case and how disciplined you can be with wear time. An examination and X-ray will tell us which option will actually work for you.
